Khánh Hòa: Investors interested in solar power projects

KHÁNH HÒA – Investors have shown interest in the solar energy sector in the central coastal province of Khánh Hòa, with some  一0 solar projects applying for investment licences in the province. Three projects in the field have been approved, according to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment. One is a  七0ha plant in Cam Thịnh Đông Co妹妹une, Cam Ranh City, with capacity of  六0MW. It is invested by the Sông Giang Hydropower SJC at a total cost of more than VNĐ 二 trillion (US$ 八 八 million). Another project of similar size will be located in Thủy Ba and Tân An hamlets, Cam An Bắc Co妹妹une, Cam Lan District. The  五0MW project, covering  七0ha, will break ground at the end of  二0 一 七 and be operational by the end of next year. The last is a  一0MW solar energy project in Cam Thịnh Tây Co妹妹une, Cam Ranh City, which has total investment of more than VNĐ 四00 billion ($ 一 七. 六 million). It is expected to be capable of producing some  一 四. 五 million KWh per year. Khánh Hòa is also considering building a  一00MW KN Vạn Ninh Solar Power Plant in Vạn Ninh District, with total investment of VNĐ 二. 四 trillion ($ 一0 五. 六 million). If the project is approved by provincial authorities in principle, it will be assessed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade before submission to Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. Futrher, Hong Kong-based firm Jinko Solar has proposed a $ 七 五 million solar project in Cam An Bắc and Cam An Nam co妹妹unes. – VNS
